Peroxydisulphate oxidation of iron(II) complexes of substituted 1,10-phenanthrolines and related compounds
Abstract
Kinetics of peroxydisulphate oxidation of several substituted tris-1,10-phenanthroline and tris-2,2′-bipyridyl complexes of iron(II) have been studied. Activation energies and frequency factors have been determined. Substituent effects on these parameters are described, and the mechanism of the oxidation discussed.
