Magnetic and spectral studies of some Schiff-base complexes derived from bis(salicylaldehydato)copper(II)

Abstract

The magnetic susceptibility of five Schiff-base complexes of copper(II) have been measured over a temperature range. Previous values of the magnetic susceptibility reported in the literature have been shown to be erroneous and it is concluded that magnetic exchange does not occur in any of these systems. The diffuse reflectance and solution spectra of these complexes have been measured between 2500 and 350 mµ.
