Indium tricyanide and indium trithiocyanate

Abstract

The preparation of indium tricyanide and indium trithiocyanate is reported. Some chemical properties of these compounds are described. The compounds have been studied by X-ray powder methods. In(CN)3 is indexed on the basis of a monoclinic unit cell with a= 6·80 ± 0·05, b= 11·90 ± 0·5, c= 97 ± 0·05 Å, β= 116·8°± 0·2°. In(SCN)3 is indexed on the basis of a cubic unit cell with a= 12·00 ± 0·05 Å.
