The determination of boron in mild steel

Abstract

A method of controlling the reaction between acetic anhydride and water to permit the development of the boronz-curcumin complex without the previous separation of iron is described. The effect of other elements in amounts normally found in mild steel has been examined. The method has been applied to a series of British Chemical Standards and also to commercial samples.
