Radical cascade cyclization of 1,6-enynes to access tricyclic compounds using a Cu/TBHP system

Abstract

We report herein an approach for synthesizing cyclopropane derivatives in moderate to very good yields through the Cu-catalyzed radical cyclization of 1,6-enynes in the presence of TBHP as both the oxidant and oxygen atom source. The advantages of this reaction are the formation of three chemical bonds using a simple copper catalyst/TBHP system as well as mild reaction conditions.
