Taking advantage of the disadvantage: employing the high aqueous instability of amorphous calcium carbonate to realize burst drug release within cancer cells†
Abstract
The high aqueous instability of amorphous calcium carbonate (ACC), which will lead to a burst release of its payload, has generally been recognized as the major obstacle for its further application in nanomedicine. Herein, a locking/unlocking strategy was applied to employ the instability of ACC to realize burst drug release within cancer cells.
