Solution-processable design strategy for a Li2FeSiO4@C/Fe nanocomposite as a cathode material for high power lithium-ion batteries†
Abstract
A Li2FeSiO4@C/Fe nanocomposite has been synthesized by combining sol–gel and carbothermal reduction approaches. This process can be regarded as a general synthesis method for an oxide–metal nanocomposite. Iron crystallites can significantly improve the high-rate performance of insulating oxide cathode materials for high-power lithium-ion batteries.
