An AIE photosensitizer with type I/II ROS generation for photodynamic therapy of toxoplasmosis
Abstract
Toxoplasmosis, a global parasitic disease threatening one-third of humans, lacks effective treatments. We developed a mitochondrion-targeting AIE photosensitizer (AIEPS) generating dual type I/II ROS, enabling light-activated eradication of Toxoplasma gondii and offering a potent photodynamic therapy against toxoplasmosis.
