Optical and Optoelectronic Properties of 2D, Quasi-2D and 3D Metal Halide Perovskites

Abstract

Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have garnered significant interest in recent years due to their exceptional optoelectronic characteristics. In this review, we explore the synthesis methods, structural, optical, and optoelectronic properties of two-dimensional (2D), quasi-2D, and three-dimensional (3D) MHPs. In application section, we have given emphasis that 2D MHPs are utilized to enhance the performance of 3D MHP. 2D perovskites can be used either in mixed form with 3D perovskites to create quasi-2D structures, or by applying a thin 2D capping layer of perovskites on top of 3D perovskites.
