Cobalt-based metal–organic frameworks as functional materials for battery applications
Abstract
In recent years, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have been widely used in various fields, especially in the field of electrochemical energy storage and conversion, because of their excellent properties. It is reported that Co-MOFs usually play the role of templates with other active components to improve the overall properties of materials. Pristine Co-MOFs have been widely used for battery applications because of their excellent performance as well as the simple fabrication process, which can eliminate concerns regarding poorly controlled pyrolysis. Herein, for a further specific summary of particular applications of Co-MOFs, we will mainly review the relative applications of Co-MOFs in lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, potassium-ion batteries, lithium–sulfur batteries and metal–air batteries. In this paper, the applications of pristine Co-based MOFs are reviewed in detail, which can provide a reference for future work.
