Photo-induced cyclization of olefinic amides towards sulfonamidylated iminoisobenzofurans and benzoxazines

Abstract

A photo-induced facile synthesis of sulfonamidylated iminoisobenzofurans and benzoxazines is demonstrated under mild and metal-free conditions. N-Sulfonylaminopyridinium salts as easily available sulfonamidyl radical sources selectively reacted with 2-vinylbenzamides and N-(2-vinylphenyl)amides to generate sulfonamidylated iminoisobenzofurans and benzoxazines, respectively.
