Long afterglow MOFs: a frontier study on synthesis and applications

Abstract

As a new class of inorganic–organic hybrid materials with adjustable structures, high internal surface area and unique optical characteristics, Metal–Organic Frameworks (MOFs) with long afterglow behavior have attracted more attention. In this review, we systematically summarized the possible mechanism of long afterglow materials, and the recent advances in the fabrication and application of MOF-based long afterglow materials in detail. The future challenges and a brief perspective were also given for the construction and application of effective MOF-based long afterglow materials.
