Gel polymer electrolytes based on single-ion-conducting polyelectrolyte (SICP) and SICP-functionalized carbon nanotubes

Abstract

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes functionalized with single-ion-conducting polyelectrolytes (MWCNT-SICP) were synthesized. The incorporation of as little as 0.02 wt% MWCNT-SICP significantly enhanced the ionic conductivity by a factor of 2.1, while yielding a high lithium transference number of 0.87 in the resulting gel polymer electrolytes (GPEs). This highlights their strong potential as a platform for designing and developing GPEs.
