Metal-free fluorination strategy for amines: a sustainable and scalable one-pot synthesis of difluoramines via selectfluor

Abstract

Sustainability and scalability issues in the synthesis of difluoramines significantly limit its practicality. Herein, we present a metal-free one-pot fluorination of amines using Selectfluor, transforming selectively an amino group to a difluoramino (NF2) one among multiple fluorinatable sites. This method features a safe fluorine source, mild reaction conditions, and is metal free. Employing water as a cosolvent offers a facile process to achieve scaled-up synthesis.
