Review of different series of MOF/g-C3N4 composites for photocatalytic hydrogen production and CO2 reduction

Abstract

The development of a sustainable energy source has been a great challenge, and photocatalysis technology has become the key to solve it. Based on the synthesis strategy of g-C3N4 and MOF materials, this article focuses on exploring the application of ZIF series, MIL series, UIO series and other series of MOF materials compounded with g-C3N4 in photocatalytic H2 production and CO2 reduction. The photocatalytic H2 production or CO2 reduction performance can be improved by the different composite synthesis methods, material morphology and the construction of heterojunctions with the combination of MOF series with g-C3N4. Finally, the research on photocatalysis of different series of MOF/g-C3N4 composites is summarized, and the application prospects are proposed.
