Translucent solar power for potential future implementations

Abstract

Semitransparent perovskite solar cells (ST-PSCs) have emerged as a significant innovation as a translucent solar power based photovoltaic technology due to their notable efficiency and versatility in light manipulation. This review hones in on recent advancements in ST-PSCs, focusing on novel perovskite compositions, interface engineering, and cutting-edge transparent electrodes essential for optimizing the interplay between photovoltaic performance and optical transparency. The exploration extends to applications in building-integrated photovoltaics, vehicular energy solutions, and agriphotovoltaics, underscoring the necessity of transitioning from lab-scale experiments to market-ready products. We conclude by mapping out future research trajectories that promise to bolster the adoption of ST-PSCs, aiming to contribute to the sustainable and clean energy landscape.
