Invasive non-typhoidal Salmonella (iNTS) are a growing bacterial threat due to their antimicrobial resistance. This work demonstrates that iNTS are susceptible to host-directed therapies that inhibit intracellular bacterial replication.
Black tea-theaflavins lower postprandial hyperglycemia by raising plasma GLP-1 and insulin levels in mice. Theaflavin-3′-gallate (TF2B) effectively activates GPR55, and promotes GLP-1 release via Ca2+/CaMKII and ERK1/2 pathways in STC-1 cells.
This review explores structures, classifications, and distributions of benzylisoquinoline alkaloids (BIAs) and summarizes their biosynthetic pathway, enzymatic catalysis, origin, evolution, and metabolic engineering.
Aloe emodin attenuated motor and cognitive dysfunction in HD model mice. Aloe emodin decreased the level of the mutant huntingtin protein and inhibited CaMKII/Smad and TGF-β1/Smad signaling.
Here we have reported novel polymeric devices to control fluid flow using surface forces and capillary action to facilitate counter-diffusive, on-chip protein crystallization.
