The synthesis and adsorption–dispersion properties of PPEGMA–PVPA copolymers in cement paste

A novel phosphate-containing polymer PPEGMA–PVPA was synthesized via solution radical copolymerization. The polymer exhibited better adsorption–dispersion performance in cement paste than the reference polycarboxylate superplasticizer.

Sono-responsive smart nanoliposomes for precise and rapid hemostasis application

A sono-responsive smart nanoliposome loaded with thrombin (TNL) was developed. The structure of TNL collapses under ultrasonic activation and swiftly releases thrombin from the cavity, thereby achieving a precise and rapid local hemostasis.

Facile synthesis of an acid-responsive cinnamaldehyde-pendant polycarbonate for enhancing the anticancer efficacy of etoposide via glutathione depletion

A facile synthetic method was developed to prepare a biocompatible acid-responsive polycarbonate containing cinnamaldehyde moieties, a potent GSH-depleting agent, for enhancing the anticancer efficacy of etoposide.

Preparation and characterization of polydopamine and n-butyl methacrylate copolymer coatings on titanium–nickel alloy stents

PBMA-b-PVP copolymer can improve the adhesion of PBMA homopolymer to TiNi alloys. The PDA coating enhances the corrosion resistance of TiNi alloys. The composite coating demonstrates excellent biocompatibility.

Investigation of the surface mechanical properties of functionalized single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) reinforced PDMS nanocomposites using nanoindentation analysis

Functionalizing single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) with different chemical functional groups directly enhances their chemical adhesion and dispersion in viscous polymeric resins such as polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) improving the overall surface mechanical properties of the composite.

Machine learning-guided morphological property prediction of 2D electrospun scaffolds: the effect of polymer chemical composition and processing parameters

ML was adopted to predict electrospun scaffolds' morphological properties. The scaffolds' conductivity and fiber diameter were modeled by machine learning. A deep neural network model showed a prediction accuracy with an R2 score of more than 0.7.

Swelling behaviors of superabsorbent composites based on acrylic acid/acrylamide copolymer and acid-modified attapulgite

Attapulgite was helpfully for the formation of a porous three-dimensional network structure of the absorbing materials, can significantly increase the water absorption and retention of sand-fixing materials under a wide pH range of 5–9 and the ultrasonic power was 200 W and 300 W.

NIR-responsive magnesium phosphate cement loaded with simvastatin-nanoparticles with biocompatibility and osteogenesis ability

Biological activity of lyophilized chitosan scaffolds with inclusion of chitosan and zinc oxide nanoparticles

Zinc oxide and chitosan nanoparticles were incorporated into scaffolds by lyophilization. The scaffolds exhibit antibacterial activity and biocompatibility under in vivo subdermal implantations, exhibiting potential for biomedical applications.
