Electrodeposition of Cu2NiSnS4 absorber layer on FTO substrate for solar cell applications

Potentiostatic and in situ electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to investigate the nucleation and growth mechanisms of electrodeposited Cu2NiSnS4 (CNTS) thin films from aqueous solution at various applied potentials.

Interaction of Staphylococcus aureus and Candida albicans with surface-modified silica studied by ultra-high frequency acoustic wave biosensor

In this work the bacteria S. aureus and fungi C. albicans were allowed to interact with quartz-based biosensor devices under different flow rates. The anti-fouling MEG-OH coating was able to reduce the fouling observed from the microorganisms.

Soft X-ray spectromicroscopy of human fibroblasts with impaired sialin function

A comparative study of normal human fibroblasts and Salla disease patients' fibroblasts reveals changes in the soft X-ray spectroscopic signatures of disease cells. Synchrotron radiation imaging was performed for thin sections and grid-grown cells.

Determination of the significance of atomic concentration on surface properties of BaxMg1−xF2 alloy coatings via microscopic and spectroscopic techniques

Both BaF2 and MgF2 compounds and BaxMg1−xF2 alloy thin films were deposited on glass and silicon (Si) substrates in nanometric sizes (100 ± 10 nm) in a high vacuum environment by radio frequency (rf) magnetron sputtering.

Phytofabricated ZnO-NPs mediated by Hibiscus tiliaceus leaf extract and its potential as a diosgenin delivery vehicle

Diosgenin can overcome multiple health disorders but has low solubility in water. Zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) have provided promising potential in the biomedical field and were successful as a carrier for increasing the diosgenin's solubility.

Assessment of wafer scale MoS2 atomic layers grown by metal–organic chemical vapor deposition using organo-metal, organo-sulfide, and H2S precursors

Wafer scale transition metal dichalcogenide films grown by MOCVD using two different chalcogen precursors are assessed for layer homogeneity and quality. These characteristics are then compared to electrical properties on the growth substrate.

A novel fluorescent probe with a phosphofluorene molecular structure for selective detection of hydrogen sulfide in living cells

The fluorescent probe PPF-CDNB based on the asymmetric π-conjugated phosphine structure of phosphorfluorene can highly selectively and sensitively detect hydrogen sulfide in live cells, and exhibits a significant fluorescence enhancement effect.

Synthesis of a resorcinol-based derivative as a corrosion inhibitor for low-carbon steel in 0.5 mol L−1 HCl medium: chemical, electrochemical, and theoretical aspects

This work illustrated the synthesis of a new simple resorcinol derivative, 4,6-dimethoxyisophthalohydrazide (DMIH) and confirmed its structure using 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Also, it assessed the ability of the DMIH to act as inhibitor for LCS in HCl.

An electrochemically synthesized molecularly imprinted polymer for highly selective detection of breast cancer biomarker CA 15-3: a promising point-of-care biosensor

Here, a molecularly imprinted polymer film (MIP) was prepared on the surface of a disposable carbon screen-printed electrode (C-SPE) using (3-acrylamidopropyl)trimethylammonium chloride (AMPTMA) as a functional monomer and the cancer biomarker carbohydrate antigen 15-3 (CA 15-3) as a template.
