Photochromism and the fluorescence properties of bisbenzothienylethene and S,S,S′,S′-tetraoxide derivatives with dual conjugated fluorescent groups on their side chains

The title compounds were synthesized. Bisbenzothienyl-ethenes showed turn-off fluorescent photochromism, while their disulfones showed one-way photocyclization reactions and the turn-on fluorescence.
