Iron-catalyzed hydroarylation of 1,3-dienes with indoles

Abstract

An efficient iron-catalyzed hydroarylation of 1,3-dienes with indoles has been developed for the first time. This protocol involves the use of the green and inexpensive Earth-abundant metal iron as the catalyst. The reaction features convenience, mild conditions and high atom utilization efficiency. Various molecules containing alkenyl and indole groups were readily obtained from this method.
