Postpolymerization modification of sterically demanding poly(methacrylic acid) with allene sulfonamides

Abstract

The postpolymerization modification of acrylic acid copolymers is presented herein. The direct additions of polymeric carboxylic acid to allene sulfonamides produced a library of functional acrylate polymers. Sterically congested methacrylic acid copolymers and acrylic acid copolymers participate in this PPM process, with good conversions observed.
