MoO2/Ni0.2Mo0.8N nanorods on nickel foam as a high performance electrocatalyst for efficient water oxidation†
Abstract
MoO2/Ni0.2Mo0.8N interfacial nanorods on nickel foam (MONMN-NRs) were reported as an efficient electrocatalyst for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in alkaline media. The optimized catalyst delivered an ultralow overpotential of 264 mV@10 mA cm−2 in 1.0 M KOH. The enhanced performance is mainly attributed to the strong electronic interaction between MoO2 and Ni0.2Mo0.8N that facilitates the OER intermediates according to theoretical analysis.
