Highly effective CS2 conversion with aziridines catalyzed by novel [Dy24] nano-cages in MOFs under mild conditions†
Abstract
Converting CS2 into high-value products is an emerging and effective strategy for disposing of CS2, which can avoid generating various toxic pollutants caused by the traditional method of incinerating CS2. However, there are great challenges involved in searching for novel catalysts to obtain highly effective CS2 conversion with aziridines under mild conditions. Herein, a novel MOF (1) assembled from [Dy24] nano-cages was constructed, and showed excellent catalytic activity for CS2 conversion with aziridines under mild conditions, along with the recorded turnover frequency (TOF) value of 51.1 h−1. Catalyst 1 could be reused at least five times without obvious loss of catalytic performance, and was applied to a gram-scale experiment, which showed a promising practical application for CS2 disposal. In addition, the corresponding production can be simply recrystallized to obtain highly purified intermediates for use in organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. Importantly, 1 represents the first example of a MOF-based catalyst for CS2 conversion with aziridines.
