A recyclable ciprofloxacin polymer ligand for copper-catalyzed coupling of (hetero)aryl halide aminations

Abstract

The immobilization of ciprofloxacin on chloromethyl polystyrene resin can be used as an efficient recyclable ligand for promoting a copper-catalyzed coupling reaction of (hetero)aryl halides and amines, and provides excellent results. The ligand is easily recovered and reused without significantly reducing its catalytic ability. It is environmentally friendly, and no ciprofloxacin was detected in the reaction solution. Thus, many important structural units for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries can be assembled utilizing this method.
