Guiding uniform Zn deposition by cocoons for long-life Zn metal batteries

Abstract

The interlaced carbon membranes were prepared using cocoons via high-temperature sintering processes. The membranes successfully suppressed the growth of detrimental Zn dendrites by inducing Zn to nucleate and grow into polygons. The symmetric Zn cells with modified Zn anodes by cocoon carbon membranes exhibited a high cycling life of 251 hours at a current density of 0.25 mA cm−2.
