Step-by-step synthesis of one Fe6 wheel and two Fe10 clusters derived from a multidentate triethanolamine ligand

Abstract

One Fe6 wheel and two Fe10 clusters were obtained with a step-by-step strategy. The wheel and cluster complexes were synthesized by reacting Fe3O precursors with triethanolamine. A magnetic investigation indicates that the Fe6 wheel shows strong antiferromagnetic behavior.
