A dinuclear platinum complex featuring the diboran(4)-1,2-diyl ligand in a μ2-bridging coordination mode

Abstract

A novel μ2-bridging coordination mode of the diboran(4)-1,2-diyl ligand was unveiled for dinuclear 1, in which two Pt(II) centers are connected by the diboran(4)yl moiety. Prolonged heating resulted in the unprecedented reductive elimination of the haloborane from one Pt(II) center to afford mononuclear 2.
