Transforming ‘formulation’: systematic soft materials design

Abstract

Editorial Board member Geoff Maitland comments on the challenges of changing the formulation of soft matter products from a largely empirical process to a systematic design methodology. He suggests this as a shared vision for academic and industrial researchers to guide work crossing the interface between fundamental soft matter science and its applications.
