Triphosph(iii)azanes to diphosph(iii)azanes; a cracking transformation

Abstract

The reversible interconversion between trimeric [ClPNEt]3 (1) and dimeric [ClPNEt]2 (2) reported here is the first observation of such a thermally induced rearrangement between two cyclophosphazane oligomers; the structure of 1·cis is reported along with NMR studies of its conversion into 2.
