(EDT-TTF-I2)2PbI3·H2O: an ambient pressure metal with a β′ donor slab topology

Abstract

Water molecules are interspersed within ribbons of face-sharing [PbI6/2] octahedra within the title hybrid phase in which the stacks of organic radical cations are less strongly dimerised and interact more with each other than is usually the case in β′ phases to achieve metallic conductivity at ambient pressure.
