Organic semiconductors in molecular electronics

Abstract

In this paper, solid state chemical sensors and molecular electronics utilizing organic semiconductors are discussed in terms of equivalent electrical circuits. This viewpoint exposes the common features of these two important groups of chemical electronic devices. A new experimental platform for investigation of this commonality is described. It should facilitate research in organic semiconductors for the benefit of chemical sensors and molecular electronics alike.
