Critical dilution
Abstract
The critical dilution can be derived in a natural fashion from gel point theory. Theoretically, the existence of the critical dilution, γc, appears almost obvious. In contrast, experimentally, there has been much confusion as to whether the critical dilution occurs or not. To resolve this question, we re-examine the gelation theory developed in our laboratory in light of the Matejka–Dusek experiments, the result giving a confirmation of the soundness of the concept of critical dilution.
