Template synthesis of [Cr(en)3][Te6]: a novel polytelluride with a framework structure, whose cavities are filled with a [Cr(en)3]3+ template

Abstract

[Cr(en) 3 ][Te 6 ] (en = ethylenediamine) is obtained by a template synthesis under solvothermal conditions from Cr(CO) 6 and BaTe 4 ; its crystal structure contains a polymeric Te 6 3- framework whose pores contain the Cr(en) 3 3+ template; [Cr(en) 3 ][Te 6 ] is the first chalcogenide with a porous three-dimensional framework structure.
