The hydrothermal microwave synthesis of scorodite: iron(III) arsenate(V) dihydrate, FeAsO4·2H2O
Abstract
The high yield and rapid precipitation of iron(III) arsenate(V) dihydrate (identical to the mineral scorodite) from aqueous iron(III)-arsenic(V) solutions in the pH range 0.6–1.1 has been achieved using microwave dielectric heating; the results have significant implications for the removal of arsenic from industrial wastes.
