Determination of arsenic in aqueous samples with solvent extraction of ion associates

Abstract

Arsenic can be detected and/or determined at a trace level by spectrophotometry or spectrofluorimetry using catechol and a cationic dye as reagents. Semiquantitative determination of arsenic has been carried out using a standard colour comparator. The method has been successfully exploited for the quantification of total arsenic in water samples.
