A novel strategy derived from sulfur-based cyclocoupling in conjunction with a modified Ramberg–Bäcklund reaction together with the utilization of (–)-methol as the chiral auxiliary is presented for the synthesis of (+)- and (–)-[12][12]paracyclophanes.
