Two new [Cd(CN)2]n frameworks with linear channels of large, elongated hexagonal cross-section: structures of cadmium cyanide–guest (guest = dmf and Me2SO) clathrates

Abstract

Two new [Cd(CN)2]n frameworks with linear channels of large, elongated hexagonal cross-section have been discovered in cadmium cyanide–guest (guest = dmf or Me2SO) clathrates; the framework in the latter clathrate is the first example of a 3-D net comprising octahedral and tetrahedral cadmium centres in a 2 : 1 ratio.
