Efficient visible-light-driven photocatalysis. Poly(pyridine-2,5-diyl)-catalysed hydrogen photoevolution and photoreduction of carbonyl compounds
Abstract
Poly(pyridine-2,5-diyl), an insoluble yellow powder, shows efficient photocatalysis under visible light (λ>400 nm) towards water and some carbonyl compounds in the presence of triethylamine as a sacrificial electron donor, yielding H2 and corresponding alcohols, respectively.
