Differences in the interaction of 1,2,3-triphenylphosphirene with platinum(II) and platinum(0) complexes. Crystal and molecular structures of cis-[PtCl2(PPhCPh[double bond, length half m-dash]cph)(PEt3)] and cis-[PtI(PPhMeCPh[double bond, length half m-dash]CPh)(PPh3)]

Abstract

1,2,3-Triphenylphosphirene undergoes only η1-co-ordination with PtII complexes whereas with Pt0 centres insertion also occurs to yield phosphaplatinacyclobutene products.
