Synthesis and properties of gallium tetramethylammonium sodalite, NMe4GaSi5O12

Abstract

A tetramethylammonium gallosilicate zeolite with the sodalite structure was synthesized. Its chemical analysis showed a Si/Ga ratio of 5 : 1. X-Ray powder diffractograms and i.r. spectra of the new zeolite were also recorded and its thermal stability studied by differential thermal analysis. A formula of NMe4GaSi5O12 is indicated.
