Synthesis and characterization of graphite fluorides by electrochemical fluorination in aqueous and anhydrous hydrogen fluoride

Abstract

The electrochemical oxidation of graphite in 50% aqueous hydrogen fluoride generates a second-stage graphite fluoride, C14F(HF)y, a relative of the graphite fluorides prepared and characterized by chemical or electrochemical fluorination of graphite in anhydrous hydrogen fluoride.
