Quality assurance in pesticide formulation analysis
Abstract
Five inter-laboratory calibration exercises were carried out with pesticide formulations in South Africa during 1984 and 1985. These exercises included the determination of the active ingredient and other components, and also physical testing of the formulated product. The use of gas chromatography to determine the active ingredients seemed to present few problems but an HPLC exercise gave poor results. The results of the physical testing of formulations indicated much variability between results, which must be rectified.
