Molecular osmium and ruthenium carbonyl clusters on conventionally prepared carbon monoxide hydrogenation catalysts

Abstract

Conventional MgO-supported catalysts prepared by aqueous impregnation of [H2OsCl6] and [RuCl3] are converted under conditions of catalytic hydrogenation of CO into supported molecular clusters, [Os10C(CO)24]2– and [Ru6C(CO)16]2–, respectively.
