Analysis of photon correlation spectral decay functions. Part 3.—Unimodal polydisperse systems

Abstract

It is shown that the S-exponential sum method can reliably extract the mean linewidth and moments of the linewidth distribution for unimodal systems. The second normalised moment of the linewidth distributions can only be derived to an accuracy set by the precision of the experimental data. Moments higher than the second cannot be derived owing to the limited resolving power of present photon correlation systems.
