Ionisation energies of two-electron atoms

Abstract

Ionisation energies of atomic helium and two-electron atomic ions are calculated from the equation: J/hcRM={(ZS2)–S2[Z2–(ZS2)]–✓(α2/Z¡)}[1 +α2(Z– 1)(Z– 2)/4], where S= 0.5 is the repulsion or screening constant.
