Notes. Crystal structure of pentakis(dimethyl sulphoxide-O)dioxouranium(VI) bis(perchlorate)

Abstract

The crystal structure of the title compound [UO2(OSMe2)5][ClO4]2 has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods at 295 K and refined by least squares to a residual of 0.064 for 1 768 ‘observed’ reflections. Crystals are monoclinic, space group Cc, with a= 22.196(6), b= 12.140(4), c= 11.954(4)Å, β= 113.68(2)°, and Z= 4. The dioxouranium(VI) group is surrounded in the equatorial plane by five oxygen atoms from the dimethyl sulphoxide groups (mean U–O 2.38 Å).
