Fast atom bombardment mass spectrometry (FAB). Negative-ion spectra of some simple monosaccharides

Abstract

A study of the negative-ion mass spectra obtained by fast atom bombardment of some simple monosaccharides is described. Intense pseudo-molecular (M—H) ions are observed together with a number of fragment ions which are shown to be significant in terms of molecular structure.
