(Dimethyl)[tris(trimethylsilyl)methyl]silyl cyanate and related species: the first silicon cyanates

Abstract

Treatment of (Me3Si)3CSiMe2l, (Me3Si)3 CSiMe(OMe)l, or (Me3Si)3CSiPh2l with AgOCn in CH2Cl2has given (Me3Si)3 CSiMe2(OCN),(Me3Si)3CSiMe(OMe)(OCN), and (Me3Si)2C(SiPh2Me)[SiMe2(OCN)], respectively, the first normal cyanates of silicon; on heating these isomerize to the corresponding isocyanates.
