Evaluation of the van der waals constant, internal pressure and sound velocity in binary liquid mixtures from flory's theory

Abstract

The van der Waals constant, excess internal pressure and sound velocity have been computed for the binary liquid mixtures benzene +p-xylene and benzene +p-dioxan at 298 and 313 K and acetone + methyl iodide at 253.2 K using the statistical thermodynamical theory of Flory. The agreement between experimental and theoretical values is good.
